I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on the best paid anti virus for windows 8.1. I obviously want good protection BUT I do not want to lose pc performance.. my pc specs are these

 

Intel i7-3770 Quad Core 3.4ghz

Gigabyte H77 mainboard

2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti

32GB Kingston HyperX ddr3 1600mhz ram

2TB WD Sata HDD

windows 8.1 pro

With these specs, you won't lose any performance at all, at least, not performance that you will notice.
Do you have a specific price range for your Antivirus ? Do you want a "middle package" solution or a "full package" solution ?

Alright, then my recommendation would be either a product from Kaspersky or ESET. Both are the two best Antivirus companies at the moment in my opinion and they're always top scoring in the Antiviruses benchmarks. Their products also have a wide range of useful protection features that you can fully customize by yourself. Kaspersky's middle package Antivirus is the Kaspersky Internet Security while PURE 3.0 is the full package. ESET's middle package is ESET Nod32 while Smart Security is the full package. All these packages include an Antivirus AND a Firewall by default so you don't have to worry about getting a third party firewall.
