Experts,

I have the same problem in 2 different PCs: if I boot in safe mode with network only I have the full ISP bandwith (650Mbs for LAN, 150Mbs wi-fi), but in normal mode I have around half when wired and only 20Mbs on wifi

I had already updated all the possible drivers, without success...

I have Norton 360 on the LAN pc and Office Scan on the wifi pc. Windows firewall is disable on both

I've tried to disable the Norton but nothing changed. I can't disable office scan.

Do you have any idea or do you know any tool that can help me in understanding what software is causing the problem?

Not sure if this is the right place for this request: please point me to the correct one in case is wrong

thanks in advance for your help!

cheers

Hello! I know nothing about Office Scan, but I know that Norton is a resource hog  and very bloated. I personally like MSE and Malwarebytes running in real time.

You could try Avira or Avast. They are both free.

I 'm not certain about this, but I don't think Norton is active in safe mode and could be the reason you're seeing the difference.

Maybe other members here will know and reply to your topic.

When something weird happens on a computer and Norton is installed it's usually Norton. Norton does not run in Safe mode, disabling Norton in regular mode may not show the problem clearly so to troubleshoot with better results it may be best to uninstall Norton and see if the issue subsides.

donetao, zep516,

thanks for your inputs.

I've already tried to uninstall Norton and I have a small improvement (~10%), but still not the same as in safe mode.

What about Office Scan? Is even slower than Norton? I can't uninstall that one...

Hello,

I can't do this via pm, everything needs to be in the forum.
