I am looking at some prebuilt rigs for under 2000 I have found a few configs I like. I am building this for gaming and video editiing.

Games I am looking to play include MechWarrior Online, Rome II: Total War, SHogun II: Total War, Age of Empires II HD, Wargame Red Dragon and a few others.  Which of these is the better deal? I am not interested in building my own rig but a local shop can assimble some things off part picker for 100 bucks if I provide the parts.

YouTube, making gaming videos. So I will also need to be able to run FRAPs. As for software, whichever I can get a good deal on.

I would not go for a X79 build,the 2011 socket is a dead end, although the i7 4820K has a larger L3 cache than the i7 4790K it's base speed is a lot slower and for the level of editing you  plan, tthe higher speed will serve you better.

 

I will configure the build on CPP to get best prices for parts.

The Cyberpower pc looks pretty good at ;first glance,but I think overpriced as some parts are pretty basic and cheap, Azzi keyboard/mouse, headsets, case, some parts not required, water cooler, internal Hub,, flash stick.    Read the reviews on Newegg. > http://www.newegg.ca...CED&Pagesize=20

Your intention to have a local shop build it for you is a good idea as you can get better parts/performance for the money.

The GPU is weak for a high end gamer.

The HDDs are too big, use three 1TB drives, especially for using FRAPS.

It will work, but hard to comment on the build/price as not enough details for the parts. e.g. 1000w PSU, is it Lepa or Corsair, and a total waste of money as you don't need that wattage.

The 8 core black edition, is it a  FX 9370, better performance from cheaper i7s,  or FX 8350?   

HDD, best practice is 2, one for the OS/programs, one for storage.

AS stated, I can't tell if the build from the local pc shop is good or not, without having more details, i.e. what brand and models of the parts?

 

This build you posted (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CxMxRB) is good and will work.   I still think you would be better served with a Z97 platform and 2 hard drives, ultimately the choice is yours.
