I seem to have been infected with the derbiz software/dialer and I CANNOT get rid of it NO matter what I do.

I have run everything I can think (even the actual derbiz uninstaller) but it keeps coming back.

I have now run everything as asked to do before posting my hijackthis log - so if you could please take a look. Any help would be much appreicated :tazz:

Welcome to GTG.

Before you do anything else, please create a folder for HijackThis and put it in a permanent folder (like C:\HJT) instead of the Temp folder. This is required because HijackThis will create backups and we don't want them to be deleted.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = \blank.htm
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {934426C3-525E-BD90-0EE1-98BD78E71CA0} - C:\WINNT\FYI\tmgmkifwpv.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [q35R38R] ntlxcfg.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C:\WINNT\VCMnet11.exe] C:\WINNT\VCMnet11.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [b0u5RUd9S] nmekmgr.exe

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINNT\system32\ntlxcfg.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\nmekmgr.exe
C:\WINNT\FYI\tmgmkifwpv.dll
C:\WINNT\VCMnet11.exe

What other files/folders are in this folder -> C:\WINNT\FYI\

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Download CWShredder at http://www.greyknigh...hredder.sfx.exe and run it. Uncompress the file and run it. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree with it. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [b0u5RUd9S] nmekmgr.exe

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

nmekmgr.exe

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

This is not as simple as it seems?

I have posted 2 logs below.

The first log was generated when loged in as Admin and in safe mode.
To log in as admin is the only way I can start the laptop in safe mode.

You will note that it is missing the entries that you have told me to delete.

On the second log (when loged in as myself and NOT in safe mode).
The enties are there.

Please can you advise what to do?

Hijack log while as Admin and in Safe Mode.

We usually don't want the log in safe mode, so we have to work in normal mode then. Fix those two entries in Normal Mode and delete that file. Restart and post a new log back.

I have deleted the two log entries but there was no trace of the nmekmgr.exe file.

Please find below new log.
