Hi all

I am having problem accessing my outlook email. I use the 2 step verification. I use the Google app on my android phone to generate the code and I gain access. However yesterday I got a new phone. re-installed the google verification app but outlook does not like the code it generates. it keeps saying incorrect code. I am now locked out of my hotmail account. I have asked microsoft to reset my password but I wont here from them for a whole month. Does anyone have any ideas what to do.

Could this be the reason my new phone also doesn't like my username or password when I try and set up my email account on the phone. ?

Any suggestions I would be greatly appreciative

Cheers

Hi brb101 :)

It's probably because your Hotmail (Outlook) account is still linked to that old Authentificator. Can you tell me the exact name of the application you're using ?

I suggest you to go in your account settings on the application, remove every accounts shown the re-register your account. Does the Google Authenticator even works on Outlook ? I didn't know that.

Thanks for that. I looked at what had permissions and took off the microsoft. I still had problems getting in but I got there eventually. Once in outlook I disabled 2 step verification. I think I did have my new phone as a authorised device.

Yes - The app works with outlook
