Hello everyone,
We have a USB drive that suddenly stopped working. It was not 'removed safely'.
Here's what happens:
- When it's plugged in, the F: drive appears. When it's unplugged, it disappears. It doesn't show any sign of life, though: the drive doesn't have an icon or name. It cannot be accessed (no drive inserted, it says)
- It does show up in device manager as a USB mass storage device, and it says it's 'working properly'. It confirms it's indeed assigned to the F: drive
- I've assigned a different drive letter to it, but that doesn't change matters. If I change it to O:, it'll show up as a (dead) O: drive in my computer, which disappears when I unplug it. So it still behaves the same way.
- When I go to Computer Management > Disk management, it does NOT show up.
The drive is a 32 GB Kingston DT101G2.
Is there any hope for this drive? The files on it are not important. We'd just like to be able to use it again.
Thanks in advance for your help!
