I have a sony vaio laptop, I work from home. It passed all test except on the build take the requirement is that it has to be less then 6yrs old. Well it was built in 2006. What do I need to do to my computer to make it current. It has windows xp . I have update all my other computer, but this one I xp, I have no logical reason. I have an HP but, that one is one a " black list " so I can't use that one. So old faithful is the choice. I was told to contact someone who can change the date. I feel I'm teachable so if someone could explain what I need to do, I would be so grateful.

Can I ask to what particular test and date changing you are referring.

I still use a seven year old Vaio which is now running 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro but this was only made possible by having the Ram, CPU and video requirements that such an OS needs, what particular model of Vaio do you have so we can check the specs.
