Want to know if it is possible to create a bootable MicroSD.

Then be able to boot from it on a Tablet.

ASUS VivoTab Smart ME400CL

Saw this online  http://www.intowindo...sd-memory-card/

http://www.tecflap.c...sd-memory-card/

Will it work ?

Hello jd,

I have heard of it being done and in the same way that you would do with a USB stick, do you have the option to boot from a USB device.

Just found the following thread elsewhere;

I have done it in the microSD card of my cellphone. But it gets connected to the computer through USB so BIOS shows the microSD card as a USB Hard Disk. I have installed Ubuntu Linux on it, used it for installing Windows 7 and used it as Windows Recovery Disk.

I think Sony Vaio laptops can boot from a SD card. Check BIOS settings or press F10 when system boots up and select a device to boot from.

This manual procedure can be used on USB disks (should be applicable to SD cards too) :http://www.trishtech...om_usb_disk.php
This is a tool from Microsoft to automate the process (but I dont know if it will detect SD card) : http://store.microso...m/help/iso-tool

OPs reply;

Thank you very much, I'll give it a bash and I'll tell you how I get on. smile.gif

Edit:

Worked a charm, many thanks. smile.gif

Thanks Phill,

I did not need to use this method after all, i wanted to try another way rather then hooking up a USB OTG cable plus a USB Flash Drive to the Tablet.

I have another post asking can i do a Clean Install on a Tablet of Windows 8.1,why i first asked this question.

Realizing i still needed a keyboard so also needed a USB hub, canceled out thought of MicroSD useage.

One complication about this i was not sure of and also had this in the another post.

Do i make it UEFI bootable, some answers i thought i saw was no for Windows 8.1 32bit does not support it, but my BIOS stated UEFI.

But in my other post i stated it had worked making it UEFI Bootable a USB Flash Drive and it worked.

Solved my own post through research and homework myself :geek:

You remember how determined i am from once before. :spoton:
