DVD Player plays video but no sound

I just installed again Windows 7 , when I play a dvd on my computer in windows media player it plays the video but no sound.

This never happened before, however i can hear music, windows sounds  or other video files with no problem, its just when i insert a dvd and try to see it , i just cant hear it.

any suggestions?

Does the sound work for other things?

 

Music CD

Youtube video

System sounds

 

Check Device Manager for any yellow marks.

 

Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

 

Look for yellow marks.

 

You may need to install your sound card driver or chipset driver.
