CPU overheating and I cannot enter bios to change CPU ratio!

I over locked my cup which I have done many times but this time it tells me that in order to protect my computer it shuts down, the problem is my keyboard and mouse do not work during boot (entering bios) so what can I do? Please help!

Gday mcin91,  :welcome: .

Sounds like POST is failing at detect/load USB.

On most MBs, one or both top USB 2.0 ports on the back of the case become the active ones at Post.

Try.   With the computer off, > disconnect all USB devices, > plug your keyboard into one of the 2 top ports on the back of the case, then > power on, if fail, > switch off, then > try the other port.

Please post results.

Unless you are getting an onscreen message such as "Thermal Event" for example it is not conclusive that it is the processor that has the problem, the PSU, MB, Ram, HDD and GPU could also be the cause and in a worse case scenario multiple items of hardware.

 

Try the suggestion of iammykyl, if no joy post back with the brand and model name or number details for the  PSU, MB, Ram, HDD and GPU.
