Recently my laptop (gateway NV53 with Win 8 preinstalled) took a s**t on itself. If anyone could help me through this it would be greatly appreaciated.

 

Alright, two days ago I was doing some work for my teacher/Boss (gathering information from the Web) and I had to leave. I closed the lid and left. Returning to my work, opening the lid, the Gateway boot up page was up and didn't do a thing. I turned it off holding the power button. Turning it back on it said 'Preparing Automatic Repair'. Alright, so I waited a few hours and checked back on it. All it had was a blank screen...

I hooked it up to it's charger and let it do it's thing for the day. The next morning, NOTHING CHANGED.

 

Is there something wrong with the Win 8 (somewhere it mentioned something like it was locking the hard drive which is why I cannot boot up). Any ideas?

Is it possible that the error message concerned the Bitlocker.

 

It can be tricky to do with Windows 8/8.1 but see if you are able to get into Safe Mode by turning on the notebook, hold down the Shift key and continuously tapping the F8, if successful you will have various options that you can try such as Refresh, Repair and Troubleshoot etc.
