Hello!
Wondering if the Reliability Monitor would have a clue??

Copied from the above link!
So the next time somebody tells you that their computer has been crashing lately, you should open up the Reliability Monitor and figure out what really caused all that crashing — because there’s no way that person is going to remember the super toolbar awesome game they downloaded last week.
Hey Phill!

You have a good AV so it is unlikely (but not impossible) that it is conflicting with youtube, can you download then run Speccy and post the resultant url for us, details here
Hey Gary
Good idea to run Reliability Monitor but only once DV has been disabled which can be done temporarily if DeZiekeNon wishes to do so.
As an asides DeZiekeNon, are you aware that Windows 8 and 8.1 have an updated version of Windows Defender which offers the same real time protection as Microsoft Security Essentials so you don't actually need a 3rd party AV.
The Reliability Monitor seems like an amazing tool. However, I dont think it will be of much help in this case. The event that started all this was the installation of Windows 8.1. Besides that my PC is very clean at the moment. I only have a few known and genuine applications installed.
I didn't know that Windows Defender now is a complete solution. I still have a running NOD32 License so I will keep using that untill it expires. Then I'll consider just relying on Windows Defender.

Thanks for the update
The issue may not be AV software related in any way but it is worth checking out two things that I noticed in Speccy, 1: you have Windows Firewall running when ESET NOD32 Antivirus 7.0 has it`s own personal firewall, disable Windows firewall and then check the status of the ESET firewall. 2: try disabling Blue Coat K9 Web Protection.
Both of the above suggestions are to see if either of the software filters are interfering with the youtube videos.
In addition to the above, trying older drivers should also be tried.
I have disabled Windows Firewall. Chrome still gets access to graphics hardware blocked when I try to play a youtube video.
I don't think K9 is interfering with youtube, because I used that before Win 8.1 aswell. I might try to play a youtube video with K9 disabled later.
I wanted to try version 13.9 before, because that is a stable one iirc, but I couldn't install it because it was for 32bit OS. Contrary to what it said here. Where can I find a good old driver?
Crash also happens when I want to use Google Maps. Google Maps uses WebGL, which is what crashes. Still have to try driver version 13.4.

Try older drivers first and if still no change disable K9 and see how that goes.
I'm now on 13.4 and so far so good. I also re-enabled the chrome flash plugin and that works too. However, after I installed 13.9 again the last time things were doing well for a moment too. I'll see if things stay this way this time.
If the problem is solved with driver version 13.4 I'm still not completely satisfied, because I'm missing some of the benefits of the latest drivers. For example, the latest drivers are optimized for the newer games, like Watch_Dogs, which performs much better on the latest drivers. Do I just have to wait for the next driver update?

Unfortunately yes, AMD (and others) release driver updates to address known issues that are reported to them by others, if the older drivers remain stable contact AMD support and notify them.
Ok thanks. I'll let you know if I don't get any more crashes the coming days, so this topic can be concluded.
Good luck and thanks
Hello!
Very nice Mr.Phill
The crash is back. Now it's even worse than before. When I try to play a youtube video in Chrome, it plays for 1 sec and then the sound freezes and my screens go black. This crash is consistent. I have to do a hard reset after that.
Also Starcraft 2 crashed twice yesterday, which was not happening before. This crash is inconsisten, because I can play for a while before the crash occurs.
I tried reinstalling 13.4. But I got an error message and the installation failed. Install log:
