Newest version of Mozilla Firefox installed.

Only time it is slow is when i first start it up, may take 6-8 seconds.

If i disable all add ons in safe mode it starts up in 1-2 seconds.

Now i do not have many add ons (extensions), but i tried disabling, still no luck. Disabled plug ins, no help. Only using Adobe Flash.

Even reset firefox, no luck, tried there support site no luck there either.

For add ons i have only AdBlockPlus.

Some reading says may be something else on my system causing it.

Hello jds63!

This isn't much help. I have three browsers. Firefox is always been slower for me. I have tried the same things you tried. It's still slow starting out.

I just gave up and excepted the fact that it's slower than the other browsers.

See this!

Hey Donetao,

Yes it seems might of started from recent upgrades to Firefox lately.

Just funny why is work better in safe mode, with add ons removed like that is the issue and apparently it ain't.

Yes i been looking over there support page, no luck.

Still like the browser better then others and performance is fine when surfing the net. ty.

Hey jds63!

I really can't remember when mine started being slow! I never tried it in safe mode.

Firefox is my favorite browser too.

Firefox and I have a lot in common(Old and slow)! IMHO Firefox is the safer browser??

The internet is really getting bad. All the free programs I use to recommend to my friends are using Down Load Managers.

It's all about $$$. filehippo hasn't started using them yet. Down Load Managers will load PUP's on you.

I don't care if the big dogs say;  you can uncheck them with a custom install.

I can tell you for a fact. That don't always work! They will install their PUP's any way.

It's a shame, but it's some thing we're going to have to put up with.

If you ever find out how to speed Firefox up, give me a shout!

Do you use WOT? I use it on Firefox. Maybe the reason for slow start???

doneato!

PS You are still welcome to post on any topic I'm helping on!

Donetao,

Seems last few version of firefox started getting slow on startup, can't recall either since they make updates pretty often.

True since Firefox came about or i discovered it, it's my choice for a browser. One thing notice about IE it loads much quicker, just do not like way it functions, but is my default browser.

I think because they always update is, it probably is a safer browser. Only thing i use on it that is good is ADBlockPlus.

Too many add ons or plug ins will surely slow it down, known fact in there troubleshooting.Even a lot of bookmarks.

I do like Tonec's Internet Download Mananger and have been using it for years with no problems, much quicker for downloading.

Alwya do enough research before using new product and as you know custom install. My Internet Security suite does a pretty good job along with scans only with Malwarebytes to back me up feeling cleaned.

Stay clear of torrents download programs, P2P, where you will end up with something bad.

There are tweaks all over the internet to speed up Mozilla Firefox. Tampering with it's settings in About:config screen,   type  about:config  exactly this way in the browser, take a look, be careful will warn you.

Something do with max connections and some other tweaks.

Thanks Donetao, i only post on topics i feel i can help or post topics when i need help. :spoton:

Still waiting on answers to one of my other topics lately too.

O.k this post is finally solved.

I found out what was causing Mozilla Firefox to startup slow.

In options of Mozilla go to the advanced tab and uncheck "Use Hardware Acceleration when available".

Might not always be the case for everybody, might be depending on the Video Card they have, how settings are.

Article https://support.mozi...ur-in-safe-mode

But this was it, starts up really fast now, browses good.

Thanks for help Donetao, Solved by research.
