Hi my name is Taylor I have a windows 7 palivlia dv6 and I been having a white screen but all of a suddon when I turn on my computer a white screen shows up and it won't go away. Do I need to take it somewhere to get and if so where do you recommend and how much do you think it will be thanks!

Never mind my mom helped me? All you have to do is keep hitting control alt delete until the white screen stop and then quickly click on what you need to log on your computer then run a scan ASAP but thanks if you were about to answer this question

Seems you might have found an answer to your problem but if you want us to check things for you please follow the instructions below.

 

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from here and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
 

• Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
• Press Scan button.
• It will produce a log called (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run from.
• Please copy and paste log back here.
• The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please also paste that into your reply.

So when you return please post

• FRST.txt
• Addition.txt

Is that safe?? Norton kept telling me it's a risk for my computer and it says it's a threat to my computer

Yes it is safe. The anti-virus programs do sometimes flag our tools as suspicious. It is the way their heuristic analysis engines work. I can assure you though that the Farbar Recovery Scan tool is safe.
