Hello, this morning I received a blue screen upon turning my PC on, this 'page fault in non paged area' happens during the windows loading screen so I'm unable to get into my PC to get any real information for you guys, I'll write down my PC specs and what I was doing on my PC yesterday that might've caused this, I hope it helps!

PC specs

Windows 7 64bit
Motherboard - Asus Z87-k
CPU - Intel i5-4670k ( I've tried booting in both the stock setting of the CPU and the oc'd setting, neither work
Graphics card - Nvidia 780gt 4gb
RAM - 8gb (2 sticks) DDR3 1600mhz corshair 9-9-9-24
SSD - Samsung 840 pro series 128gb (OS is on this)
HDD - Seagate barracuda 2tb
CPU cooler - Corsair h80
PSU - corsair 750w

Yesterday on my PC I installed the latest windows update and ran 2 games for the first time (apologies if this means nothing :P )

I had bsod issues in the past but they were due to an over clocked graphics card which has since been reset and I've been all clear since

The only other thing I can give you guys is a picture of the bsod that I took if that's of any use?

Thanks for reading this, I'd be very greatful for any help on this issue, I'm not too knowledgeable on PC's but I will do my best to give you more information if you need it, cheers guys!

EDIT - I ran windows startup repair and it said it couldn't fix my problem automatically

Hello!

I really like this program(Who Crashed) If you post the dump files, someone here can read them and help you!

Also Windows creates a record of your computers history. You mind find a clue there. It's called Reliability Monitor.

PS Here's some reasons why you get BSOD!

Do you get BSOD in safe mode??

Hey man thanks for the reply! If I could get the dump files I would but since this bsod is happening during the windows loading screen I can't get them :(

Regarding safe mode, I held down f8 to boot into safe mode and a window pops up from the motherboard asking me what I'd like to boot with, my ssd or HDD, no windows options come up at all :( is there another way to get into safe mode?

Thanks again

Hello!

Try tapping F8 every second before you see the windows logo!

Did you make a system repair CD?? You can make one from any W7 working PC!

OK I got into safe mode and tried booting, still got the bsod so I guess we can round that out, I could try safe mode without networking I'd that makes a difference?

I don't have a system repair CD, my PC doesnt have a disc drive :P

Windows Starts and Blue Screens or Freezes

If Windows crashes or blue-screens on you every time it boots, you may be facing a hardware or software problem. For example, malware or a buggy driver may be loading at boot and causing the crash, or your computer’s hardware may be malfunctioning.

How to Use Safe Mode to Fix Your Windows PC (and When You Should)
Windows’ Safe Mode is an essential tool. On computers infected with malware or crashing because of buggy drivers, Safe Mode... [Read Article]

To test this, boot your Windows computer in safe mode. In safe mode, Windows won’t load typical hardware drivers or any software that starts automatically at startup. If the computer is stable in safe mode, try uninstalling any recently installed hardware drivers, performing a system restore, and scanning for malware. If you’re lucky, one of these steps may fix your software problem and allow you to boot Windows normally.

If your problem isn’t fixed, try reinstalling Windows or performing a Refresh or Reset on Windows 8. This will reset your computer back to its clean, factory-default state. If you’re still experiencing crashes, your computer likely has a hardware problem.

OK so reading that article, thanks btw :)

Startup repair doesn't work, it says it cannot repair the problem automatically

When I try to boot into safe mode I get the screen that lists all the drivers or whatever that windows is loading, then my screen goes black and then I get the blue screen

I think its either my windows which is done, the ssd has a fault with it in some way, or maybe its ram.

Its a last resort but can I reformat my ssd without going into windows?

EDIT - the only new thing I've done on my PC is install the new windows update, since then I haven't restarted the PC, until this morning obviously :P

I'm not familiar with Samsung computers. Most manufactures these days have a restore back to factory on a hidden partition on the HD.

If it hasn't been corrupted, you could try to restore back to factory. If you have hardware problems it won't work.

Hi, from the specs you posted this looks like a locally built computer, not one from a manufacturer. If I am right there won't be a restore or recovery partition, especially as you say the operating system is on the SSD drive and not the other ordinary hard drive.

You could take the SSD drive out of the computer and with suitable equipment (Adapter to USB or enclosure to USB) connect it to another computer to check it, but I do think that SSD drive has gone faulty.

Thanks for the help guys. Yea nev it is a custom built PC, it totally went past me that I should mention that!

I'm going to try and get a backup ssd to test if my ssd is faulty, Is it possible to get windows on an external hdd and plug it in via USB by any chance? That at least could round out anything else!

Hello!

You can down load a W7 ISO file from Digital Rivers. It is perfectly legal if you have the 25 digit Key.

I have never burnt  a ISO file to a flash drive!

I think this is the link!

No you can not boot into windows from a external HD

Maybe more GTG members can help you with this ISO file??

Hi, It gets a bit difficult here due to not having a CD/DVD drive. You should be able to load it to a USB pen drive providing you have one big enough. It can be installed from that though I don't expect it to install without replacing the SSD for a new one, as I think that is the main problem as the original may well be a duff drive now.

Follow all that is in that Microsoft page that doneteo linked to.
