This problem started a few days ago. I have been working with a geekstogo helper to find possible malware (turns out I don't have any). I thought it might be related to what we were doing, so I asked him about it. He wrote: "Sorry, I'm a Malware guy, not Hardware. Perhaps querry someone on the Hardware portion of the board."   I have Windows 7. I have my "Turn off the display" set to the default of 10 minutes. It has happened at least twice over the last couple days that I cannot wake the monitor up from sleep. I do the usual - click the mouse, press some keys - and it doesn't wake up.  I have seen no alternative at this point except to power off the PC and power it back on.

Thank you.

Hello !

You may have to go into power management and change the options.

Hello!

What happens if you just click the power button and not hold it down??

You might try changing the power button to sleep mode??

I never let my PC go into sleep mode. IMHO that's a bad W7 feature. My PC is either on or off.

I have see where the sleep mode causes problems and so I never use it.

I know that's not a good answer, but At the moment I don't have a better answer!

doneato!

PS Are you running a laptop or desktop?

That seems to have done the job. You may close this issue.

Thanks!
