System restore will no longer work and I still continue to get iexplore.exe-Bad Image when I log on.  I am not alone for I tried to see what was causing this and how to get rid of it.  Too many throwing ideas around and I do not want to mess up my computer.  Can you help me out?  Thank you.

Hello Sharon! I would suggest you visit our great malware team!!

here!

I tried to do that but it is closed.  Thinking of taking IE off my computer for that is where all the problems seem to be.  Is that possible?  There are so many having the same problems and nothing is working so can I remove IE and re-install it?

Hello Sharon!

No you can not remove IE. You can disable it You can up grade it to to the latest version. I would refuse Bing, but that's your choice.

You could also try to reset IE.

I tried to reply to CompCav but was told the topic was closed once again.  It will not let me in.  I will  not remove IE.   If not for system restore, I would ignore the pop up and continue to use the computer but I do need system restore and since this has started I can not use it.  Sorry about being a problem but I just don't want to take this to the shop where I have to pay $100.00 up front to get it worked on.  Do you think I should do this anyway?  Thank you for your help.

The link Donetao gave you is to the "how to post in the malware forum" tutorial. Read through it then follow the directions, starting with

Step 2. Download and Run OTL

Don't append to the above thread, start a new thread in that forum.

I don't think you need to take the computer to a repair shop yet. See what the malware folks find. COme back here when done if you still have problems.

Hi, Sharon, I am a little confused here but were you trying to make a post on the page doneteo linked too? If so then yes that page is for information only.

Try this as it links to the main malware help forum, and start a new thread, title it suitably so they will understand,

http://www.geekstogo...alware-removal/

read the instructions at the top of the forum page on that link before posting your problem.

Edit, Ztruker beat me too it.

Nev.

Hi.

I'm taking care of it. Please refrain from any advice here until we are done in the malware forum.

Cheers,
Naat :)

Good morning, I said that because it is true. I like whoever this person who sent me a comment need help from someone who knows. By now, I do know that Naat is helping me. I am sorry if I told them wrong. It was just that I wanted to let them know I was also in the same boat. I came here for help as they did. I cannot nor do I complain about being helped. I have been there and have felt exactly the same way. Sorry if it was worded wrong.
