Nowadays, there are thousands of antiviruses for Windows 8.1 like AVG Antivirus, Optimo AV, McAfee, Avast, Norton, and many more.... So, I’m confused in choosing one. My friend told me Optimo AC is correct. What’s your opinion?

Forget that Optimo, try BD Free or avast free, Panda more better than that Optimo.

Hello!

I suggest using windows defender. It is the same  thing as MSE. and is already there with W8

IMHO it is a great Anti-Virus protection.

Add Malwarebytes Pro and you have a great defense against infections!

In Windows 8, Windows Defender replaces Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender runs in the background and notifies you when you need to take specific action. However, you can use it anytime to scan for malware if your computer isn’t working properly or you clicked a suspicious link online or in an email message.

I'm trying very hard to make a good hand here on GTG!

Hi. If you ask ten different people, you are likely to get ten different answers.

Freebies I have found do a good job are Malwarebytes and Avast.

Bought AV Security programs, I like ESET NOD32 Antivirus7 which I have on one computer.

There are a wide variety of numbers of antivirus available in the market and to choose best among them is definitely not an easy task. Regarding antivirus, nothing could be good or bad rather than individual choice and personal experience. Also, nothing can fit as a complete solution. For myself, I am using Optimo AV pc security shield which is useful and fit for my home usage purpose.

I wonder why BitDefender is so unpopular, it wins a lot independent tests and is the best antivirus according to avtest. As for me I think that BitDefender and Kaspersky are two best antivirus software, so I use Kaspersky on desktop and BitDefender on laptop, both are great though some comparison reviews says that Kaspersky is better. BitDefender itself is all sufficient antivirus software, recently I used vmware workstation and tried to install suspicious software there, well BitDefender didn't let me to do that! On virtual machine! I was very surprised and if before I hesitated between kaspersky and bitdefender now I'm 100% sure which antivirus software I will renew the next year.
