Hi,
I am working on my niece's system. It is a 98SE with some service upgrades and IE version 6.0. Originallly the system would not boot up to the login screen. After removing 9 virsus's and 2800+ AdWares... I can now get the system to boot up and run.
The problem I am having is that when I close IE, or the Control Panel, I get the following message:

EXPLORER has caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff87f03

When I close that window the system then comes up a message about Active Desktop Recovery and do I want to restore the Active Destop. When I do.. all seems fine.

I have tried all the suggestions on the Microsoft Support page.. no help. I tried searching here.. but couldn't find anything that would work..

So I am now posting and hoping for help.

Thanks,

Jim
