What type of test can I do to make sure my hard drive is bad? I've tried the bios test. It fails. It is a Compaq presario CQ57-339WM. 2gb memory. 500 GB hard drive.

If the BIOS test fails, the drive is bad.

 

If you want to verify: Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.
