Hi. Currently have IE11 on win7. When I try to uninstall to previous version by elevated command prompt(as administrator) I get following error message:

"Files of type "Microsoft- Windows-InternetExplorer-*11." not found"

Computer apparently doesn't recognize that the program is already installed. Win update actually recommends IE11 as as an optional install?

Any ideas how to uninstall IE?

Thanks

Hi, can you still open Internet explorer 11?

If so click on the blue question mark help button the select and click About internet explorer, it should tell you which version is installed.

Also I must add that if your system is 64bit there are two versions installed, one at 64bit, the other is 32bit.

Next thing to look at is Control panel and "Programs and features", on the left is "View installed updates", click that then scroll down the list till you find Internet Explorer 11. you should be able to uninstall it from there.

However, if the computer came brand new with Windows 7 service pack 1 already installed, Internet Explorer 11 may have come with it, so no earlier versions will be there to roll back to. The system will tell you that if that is the case.

Nev.
