When downloading a program, it wants to save the file.  My Windows XP use to automatically prompt the "run", "open" or "save" box.  Now, it wants to automatically save the program.

Also, such as Adobe, I now have to go into my directory and open Adobe or Google Chrome to open any PDF files.

Please help!  Thank you.

Need more info.

For the download problem, which browser are you using, IE, Firefox, Chrome?

For PDF, what happens if you double click on a PDF?

For the Adobe issue, it sounds like the pdf has lost the association with the program used to open it.

Right click on the file.

In the drop down box choose the program you want to use.

Put a check mark in the "always use this program"
