Yesterday I hit my laptop and it immediately shut down. As it booted back up, that error appeared. I consulted an IT worker and he said I should replace the hard drive. I replaced it, but the same error appeared again. The BIOS recognizes both hard drives, and I have already tried all suggestions. It does not seem like the problem is on the hard drive.

What do you mean when you say "hit my laptop"? How and how hard?

Check and make sure the RAM is properly seated. Hitting/bumping the laptop may have jarred one of them loose.

I got frustrated and punched the laptop, and BOOM. Lesson learned. I tried fidgeting with the RAM and no go.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the notebook for us.

What is the boot sequence set to in the BIOS.

I note in your OP that you have already tried all suggestions, can you tell us what you have tried.

The laptop is a Toshiba S50D-A. I've already tried changing the boot sequence to several different suggestions, replaced the hard drive and changed the booting from IDE to SATA. I believe I've tried other things as well, but I can't fully remember.

Thanks for the update

It sounds like I am stating the obvious here but when you get the No bootable device message it points to one of the following, failed HDD, damaged OS on the HDD or an incorrect boot sequence is set, you have told us that both HDDs are detected by the BIOS, to confirm this is the case can I ask what they are identified as,  for example my notebook HDD is listed as WD7500BPKX
