I frequently run into issues with chrome and firefox. Random freezing...unrespsonsive script prompts and sluggish performance..please help! I have done a norton scan no malware or virus found.
I will do a clean resintall of OS if there is no other solution.

You might want to check the browser add ons/extensions for both browsers.
There is still a chance that you might have an infection. Just to be safe, I would also run a scan with Malwarebytes.
