Hello to all :)

Machine is running Windows Vista 64 bit.

I'm in a situation and have no idea what to do. I removed a couple of items using Farbar's tool, as I like to keep my machine tidy when not helping others remove malware. However, when I rebooted, I got this message paraphrased:

hal.dll is missing or corrupted. Please install a new copy of the file.

I have my original installation disk and have found a copy of the file. However, during repair procedures, somehow, my OS is now showing as D:, and my C: is showing as what should be my D:.

Any ideas on how I should proceed to fix this??

Thanks!

Hi Pystryker :)

Show the ListParts logfile, maybe it will help us diagnose it.

Hey Naat :)

I'm beginning to believe my machine is possessed. I left for a while, came back and ran a Startup Repair and machine booted just fine. I'd done this once before and had no effect. I'm not sure why it worked this time. However, let's look it over and make sure everything is ok. ListParts log is below.

Looks quite usual. Any issues after the boot-up?

You mean other than my sanity being frayed?  Seriously though, nothing unusual at the moment. I'm putting the machine through it's paces right now.
