Hello, my computer is messed up and I can't restore using f10 because all the options are grayed out except exit.

Then i tried to use Hiren boot but when i run the cd it's missing the HBCD menu list.

But it's works on all my other computers but isnt showin in windows vista.

Nothing seems to work, not even the disk check or windows diagnostics test.

It only boots to the acer erecovery screen but everything is grayed out. Can't click anything but exit

Hi nash22,

Welcome to Geeks To Go! :)

It only boots to the acer erecovery screen but everything is grayed out.

Can you boot to Windows at all or does it just go straight to the erecovery screen when you try to boot normally?

What happens when you reboot the computer and start tapping the F8 key once you you see the Acer logo. Can you get to the Advanced Boot Options menu where you can choose Safe Mode to get to the desktop or does it redirect to the erecovery screen as well?

If you can get to the desktop via safe mode, see if you can do the following:

Go to Start then to Run
Type in compmgmt.msc and click OK
On the left side click on Disk Management
On the right side you will see your hard drive.
Expand the middle pane to full view.

Now I need you to take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply. Do the following to take a screenshot while the above is open and showing on your desktop.

To do a screenshot please click on the Print Screen key on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key.

Now go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop
Make sure the window is open all the way so I can see everything on the top right window.

On Vista/Win7 you could also use the snipping tool and click File > Save As... and save to your desktop then attach it to your next post.

What is the model number for your Acer?

Did you ever create any back up\recovery discs for this computer?

Thank you,
Donna :)
