Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio (SVF15213CDW), Windows 8, which I bought a couple of months ago. The WiFi was working perfect until a month ago when my laptop started to have connection issues. The WiFi works perfect on my phone and my friends' laptops but my laptop never shows connectivity greater than 2 out of 5 bars in the connection signals(even when I sat right next to the router it wouldn't give me full signals). I've updated the driver to the latest one and have removed the laptop from disconnecting the internet when the laptop goes to sleep but nothing seems to be working.

Please help!

Hi :welcome:,

How did you update the wireless driver?

Please execute the following:

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.
Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options:

  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List Winsock Entries
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices (select Only Problems)

  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size
  • List Minidump Files
  • List Restore Points

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply.
