Re Add or Remove Apps in XP

1. If I remove an app of 50MB, using the CP\Remove app facility, does that process actually remove that app or does it just send it to the Recycle bin?

2. Should I not see 50MB more free space on my C: drive?

3. I have removed some programs only to find that my free-space has gone <down> . Can someone please tell me what I am missing here?  Thanks.

What Remove App facility? Doesn't exist.

Do you mean Add or Remove Programs? If so you would normally get some space back but usually not all as there are often left over files that do not get deleted. You could give Revo Uninstaller Free a try. It does a much better job of cleanup after uninstall. When you use it, make sure you don't let the uninstall restart the computer as that prevents Revo from doing it's additional registry and file/folder cleanup. Manual;l;y restart after Revo completes.

Also, try using Treesize Free to see what is using your drive space.
