Hey guys!
I recently bought an HP Envy 15 notebook and I'm having trouble detecting the fans (and therefore the fan speed) on it. I've used several programs - speedfan (which doesn't load, it just freezes), HWinfo, HWMonitor, Speccy, CPU-Z, Open Hardware Monitor and RealTemp. Although these programs give me a good indicator of the temperatures of various components (which are quite normal and based on this I assume the fans are working well) all of them don't detect the fans or the fan speeds.
I'd like to know how I can solve this. Is there a program (not listed above) that would do the trick? Do I need to update the bios or some other driver? Am I doomed to always being unaware of my fan's performance!?
All comments and suggestions will help!
My notebook's specifications are as follows
Model: HP Envy 15 j123tx
Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU: Intel i5-4200M
RAM: 4GB DDR3 (Single Channel)
Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 1963 (U3E1)
BIOS: Insyde (Version F.43)
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600 and Nvidia Geforce GT740M (2GB)
Thanks a lot
