Here are the specs:

1 x desktop PC running XP. Have a SpeedStream internal adsl modem, no ethernet connection on the PCI card at all, however the PC DOES have one (not being used, of course!)

1 x laptop with wi-fi 802.11b built in, as well as a 56k modem. Also on XP

1 x laptop without, but have a PCMCIA card. Have used the connection for hi-speed data in hotel rooms eg. This one runs Win98.

1 x desktop PC with a 56k modem (used mainly for games by kids) also running 98.

Can someone detail exactly what I need to purchase in order to get the home wirelessly connected? Should I purchase an external adsl modem or modem/router and do away with the internal?

I use a Linksys wrt54g wireless router. it has a NAT firewall and works great for us. our laptops have internal wireless. my desktop is wired to the router.
