Unfortunately to guarantee compatibility any screen must be a like for like replacement as in it must be a CCFL backlit type, it is not only the wiring that needs to be taken into consideration but also how the screen is powered, in this instance your notebook has a power inverter which feeds the display, you cannot simply remove the inverter and fit an LCD type screen as there is no alternative power source available from the motherboard to power an LCD type screen, sorry that it is not better news but hopefully it answers your question.
i think you may be incorrect there philpower2, i do believe (but have never done it myself) that you can install a new lcd screen with "LED" back lighting instead of a new lcd screen using the old ccfl lighting.
i don't think it's that complicated but then again it's not a simple unplug/plug in procedure either and does require an additional converter cable/board.

personally i'd buy that screen from amazon and do a straight replacement.

Post in addition as this is not only tech related it is also a safety issue due to the risk of possible electrocution etc;
You may read elsewhere that using the alternative LCD type screen is possible but it does not have a 100% success rate, there are too many variables for it to be deemed an easy swap and is therefore it is not recommended that the average user undertake the task, one such person that has successfully used the converter states in their signature "I'm a: Professional Tech" and post the following in one reply;
there is a solution to make it work. cut the cable connector of inverter side. Find vin, gnd, on/off and brightness. just solder them to converter cables inverter connector with the right order. i do this and it works everytime. vin(+9v to +18v depends on the laptop) on/off (3.3v) brightness (you can find it by measuring the cable while adjusting brightness + / - by pressing Fn key with your laptops brightness + / - function key) gnd is ground. at converter cable side vin and ground usually located at the opposite sides with 2 pins. so you must find the others in the middle. good luck.

also you can find them by checking schematics easily. You just need those 4 pins you dont need the rest.
Before referring members to hardware schematics it is important to establish their competence first and while it is not impossible it is highly unlikely that a person that had such technical ability would be posting on a tech forum asking for help with a task such as the OP at the topic here thanks terry1966
So in essence is it possible: It may be if you are a qualified tech, can read schematics and can find the compatible hardware that is required, No if you are not a competent tech who cannot read schematics, cannot identify/obtain the required hardware and finally if you cannot find a step by step guide with a proven 100% success rate to follow.
