Hi Everyone,

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me to understand how online search engines and databases work.

I'd like to create a search engine that will search for more than just function of the object. To add tags that are descriptive words to enable people to search for products that had a certain aesthetic instead of just by the products function ie. 'metal suspension light' to 'industrial warehouse style light'

Is this possible without being massively time consuming?

Appreciate any help with getting to the bottom of this!

Thanks

Gday.

There are much, much better answers and ideas on the web than I could give you.   this page, > one resuult from entering in Google,  how to build a search engine

The functions you require already exist in search engines, it depends on how you perform the search, and the order of the words or phrase.   Every engine has an advanced search, so you need some how to search for your favourite one.

For Google, I only used two fields, but you could use more. Lighting "industrial + warehouse"
