I've recently had to reboot/system restore my brand new computer of 4 months 3 times because of a virus infection. HP was no help and either advises I send it in (not under current warranty) or I system restore computer again. Looking through my uninstall programs section I located several program names I didn't recognize. Using the internet I researched them and found that some were alright programs while a few were flagged to be possible virus or malware containers. After uninstalling the flagged programs/files I restarted my computer in order for the changes to take effect. Again in the section for uninstalling I saw other programs or files that I didnt recognize. Researching more I came across this post from a guy whos computer was acting similar to mine (freezing, slow running, firewall diasbled, windows defender disabled and incapable of being re-enabled, etc.). So I read the techs notes and followed the instructions that person gave up until when the tech advised not to follow any further due to the instructions being primarily for the computer in question and any other could cause major damage. http://www.bleepingc...irus-infection/

So where I am at this point is I've downloaded the scan tool Farbar that was advised and I've had the tool scan my system and generate a scan report. I still have the scan report up as well as the scan tool itself. The link above will take you to the post that I followed. I dont believe it's the exact post but the instructions were the same, only differ scan tool download advice. I've found the location of the viruses along with several ATTENTION markers in the generalized report but since I'm not very knowledgeable in the computer tech department, I'm not sure what to do with this information or how to proceed.

If you could help , it would be much appreciated. I am a full time college student who is working on a tight budget with no room for growth and unable to support any problems that might come up, lol!

Thank you,

C.M.
