I am considering upgrade my Desktop.

Any help will be appriciated.

 

Here are the current configuration

1. MotherBoard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-970A-DS3 (Socket M2)
2. Processor: AMD FX-6300 (Black Edition) 6 Cores 3500 MHz (Vishera 32nm Technology)
3. RAM - 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 671MHz
4. GPU - 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 5450 (XFX Pine Group)
5. Storage : 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00KUWA0 ATA Device (SATA)

I want to upgrade my GPU upto INR 15000. 

and RAM to 8 GB

Please give us some more information as your proposed upgrade depend on some other factors.

 

Do you have a 64bit version of the OS installed?   This required as 32bit version will not see/use more than 4GB of RAM.

What is the brand/model of the PSU?   This required to know the watts/amps output, then determine what GPU it will support.

What is your budget?  is that INR 15000 about $250us

Can you give a link/s to online stores you will use?

I m currently on Windows 7 32 bit.. but i will install windows 7 64 bit after upgradation.

and for PSU, is there any utility that can check its amps/watts and manufacturer wtc.?

I will but the parts from local market.. not from online store.

Thanks for the update.

Unfortunately there is no program that can give the brand/model of the PSU.   You will have to remove the side panel of the case and post us the details printed on the side of the PSU.

That is a very poor quality PSU.  nearly all user reviews say that they are not happy with the unit.

It does not have a PCI-E connection to power a video card that required more than 75 watts. The most powerful card you can install without upgrading the PSU is a GTX 750i, (take care, there are a few GTX 750i that do need a PCI-E cable)

When you do choose a card, you must visit the manufacturers web page to make sure of the power requirements.

 

The PSU specifations, as written, would be enough to add more RAM and a GTX  750I, but it being poor quality,  there is no guarantee that by adding more parts, it will still operate.

The card will be good for your upgrade as it's length is short.

The PSU u suggested is costly for me, i rather prefer cheaper ones.

 

I was wondering what is the difference between GPUs name Sapphire XXXXXXXX and MSI XXXXXXXX and others.?

like same model GPU i.e. AMD R9 270X are available from sapphire, MSI, Gigabyte and else.?

For your GPU, I'd recommend NVIDIA 680 or higher series or AMD Radeon 7000 or higher.

Remember that going cheap on a PSU risks damaging the rest of your hardware.

For the coices you have available, I would go no lower than this one, it has the correct cables and wattage/amps for your system.

The PSU to support your new card is more important than the RAM upgrade.   Consider upgradeing the GPU/PSU first, doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit, get everything running smooth,

 then get Santa to deliver new RAM for Christmas.
