Hi woody6609,

:welcome:

Question, are you reinstalling to a new drive, reasons for install ? Or was it on this drive before. I ask because of a older OS.

Try it over again, boot from disk, reformat.

When you boot from the installation DVD and you selected repair you are saying it goes nowhere, what exactly does it show ?

Could be a possible bad HDD, wondering if you get a next screen after clicking repair, be able get a command prompt. Reasons and testing solutions shown here http://www.computerh...es/ch001091.htm

When you said does not load up properly, does not bootup at all, how far does it get ?

Try rerun the install look here make sure was done properly, reformatting of drive too.  http://www.wikihow.c...tall-Windows-XP

Only think the something you uninstalled took away a file you needed.

What says you have a counterfeit version? When are you getting that message?

Try phone activation.

Call MS Support. Activation problems are supposed to be free: http://support2.micr..._prodact_master

I wonder about this since support has ended for Windows XP

There are work arounds, but are they advisable  at this point and here ? Also talks of virus when researched
