Think this is being done for now maybe to be able to make improvements to Windows 10 before it comes out or will it be this way when it does come out.

 

Even though on Technical preview can not turn it off, might be able to in the finished product. Something similiar in Windows 8.1 now, able to turn it off. In privacy settings in Change PC settings, i know this is way more, just thinking similiarity in it.

I was right about reason for data collection,  to help improve the product, yes  from research always put a keylogger it seems. http://www.geek.com/...logger-1606160/

Another attempt at headline grabbing I'm afraid   

 

MS like it has done with previous software etc is giving users of the final product the chance to help with making the OS be as good as it can, the tech preview is not being forced on anybody and the opportunity to try the software has been given all members of the public and not just people from a technical background.

 

Also from the same article;

 

“Attention: Windows 10 Technical Preview is a test platform which will capture your data, voice and keyboard interaction. It will not share your data with third parties and all information we take will be deleted at the end of the test period. The retail version of Windows 10 will not have similar requests.”

 

 

I have never specifically promoted any MS or any other software to anyone and that will never change but it does irk me when people try and sensationalise a headline for something that is giving us all a chance to help make the new OS be a success

Well i do not think i am going to try the preview, i will wait for the final product and make my decision then to buy it or not. Recall when people were using and installing it on a VirtualBox to test it on there system instead of installing it on system.

 

Heard about work arounds to disabling this logger. Also buzz going around if it will be a free upgrade to pre installed Windows 8.1 and possible purchases of Windows 8.1 after certain time.

 

Makes no sense to me as this is not an upgrade, but maybe they will have a Windows 10 upgrade version like Windows 8 upgrade version, this will be free to certain users.

I remember back when the Chrome browser was first introduced.  Word got around quickly that it tracked every movement you made on the internet - that didn't stop users from making it the most popular browser.
