Hello,
my first time here.
My house is a bit bigger than average and my router is in one corner of the house - I can't move it - and parts of my house are not covered by the wifi.
My PC is hardwired, so no problem. My partners' laptop is getting a good signal, and my smart TVs are wired to homeplugs and work just fine.
The problem is with my iPad connection. I thought the wifi side of the homeplugs would do the trick, but I would need a third homeplug to cover everywhere, and worse, the iPad treats each homeplug as a separate wifi, and I have manually to swap to each as I move around (thats not on!) Finally my Sonos music system won't be controlled via the homeplugs wifi, only by the router wifi.
My router is a Technicolor 582n pro, which according to the Consumer Association is OK, though it doesn't support 5GHz wi-fi protocol and its ethernet ports are not the fastest. My homeplugs are TPLink AV500s.
Is there;
a) a super powerfull router (I guess not or we would all have them) or would a 5GHz router do the trick?
b) a powerful wifi extender that I can sit in the middle of my house to cover the whole house that I can log onto with my iPad?
c) another solution?
Thanks in advance
