I had emails show up in trash bin all a suden from 3 yrs ago!?

Can anyone explain, how or why would old emails that Were DELETED ...show up in trash bin I jus so happened to check tonigt an saw them in there.went to move them in shick, sn poof gone? THAT were random ones from 2011 2012, 2013 and recent? ? Please help. Dont get who's into my emails. Also folder on trash, has a pop folder attached? And it's empty. Dont know why pn there. Nothing I did. Also, have personal folder that has been emptied. Nothing there?
