Hello Phillpower2,

I apologize for the delayed posts. Life has been hectic lately. Yes, I tried some of the self help options, but I am still unable to pinpoint the exact problem. I'm going to go back to the basics, and spray it out with some compressed air. I will let you know if that works after the job is done. I will have to wait until I have some free time, to go down to the store, while they are open. If you haven't been able to tell by the times that I post, I have a pretty strange schedule. I hope all is well, and if I do not give a reply before the holidays, I hope that you have a Merry Christmas.

Hi guys,

I'm not doing promoting or anything like that, but I have Kaspersky Total Security, and I have not had a problem with resource hogging lagging etc.  AND its a set and forget software, everything I have done to it runs automatically, updates, malware removals etc.

Thank you. I have found that the issues described will continue, even while very little is running in the background.

Hey Phillpower2,

I sprayed it out, but there really wasn't too much in there. I removed most of the programs in the start menu, and added this to the registry. The system runs almost great now. Hopefully, the text listed below will help someone out in the future, if they come across this thread. I also cleared all the start menu cache, and adjusted my display settings.

  Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    ;Created by Vishal Gupta for AskVG.com

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Copy To]
    @="{C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Move To]
    @="{C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
    "AutoEndTasks"="1"
    "HungAppTimeout"="1000"
    "MenuShowDelay"="8"
    "WaitToKillAppTimeout"="2000"
    "LowLevelHooksTimeout"="1000"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse]
    "MouseHoverTime"="8"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

    "LinkResolveIgnoreLinkInfo"=dword:00000001
    "NoResolveSearch"=dword:00000001
    "NoResolveTrack"=dword:00000001
    "NoInternetOpenWith"=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]

Thanks for the update azul20 - I am pleased to hear that you have made progress with it  :)

Do you consider the matter now resolved.

For anyone that does read this thread and is not aware, editing the registry is something that only advanced users should do, this because it has the potential to damage the OS making the computer unbootable, the fix above should not be done unless you know what you are doing and 100% certain that it will not hose the OS.
