Also,
go to start - run
type
sfc /scannow
note the space between sfc and /scannow.
press ok and let it run (it may ask for the Windows CD).

Let me know how this went.

hello. plz i mean plz help me my computer speed has gone too low.its the processes r taking their lifetime to execute sometimes even they end up on not responding mode. the start up of system is thw wotrst very very slow.

nyways i did what u told me to i ran sfc /scannow while running it once asked for the cd of xpsp1 i went ahead by not checking that particular file
rest of the process went fine.

You ran sfc /scannow once before. You then skipped a file it prompted you on.

Please rerun sfc /scannow and follow the prompt on that file. Make sure it get's repaired. Write it down and post me what file it was.

hello,
first of all thankz.

again the same problem occured when i performed the scan. their occured a error only once here is what it said


files that are required for windows to run proprely must be copied to the DLL cache.
insert your windows xp professional service pack 1 cd now
retry more info cancle


the last tline is dipicting the option given i retried so it said wrong cd.so i pressed cancle
and it sontinued with the process.
P.S : the error is ocouring just before the scan process is about to end.

tell me wat to do now.as we dwnloaded spxp1 from net.remember.

We need a CD to run sfc. So we will use the CD to upgrade to SP2 ànd run sfc.

so that means we r not doing anything for the comp. as it is running very slow. for 4-5 weeks. :tazz:

You could try uninstalling Ewido, maybe it's taking up to much resources.

See if that helps. If not, we can disable some startups and see if that helps.

hi there on 5th i got the messege from microsoft that they r porcessing my request nd that it wod not take more than 4-6weeks.
i did the things u told removed ewido and also reduced the startup to minum by going to msconfig. but still the speed is quite low, wat shal i do. :tazz:
