This past week or so I've been getting blue screen of death errors. I've watched videos about it and downloaded a program to view the files in my minidump folder and almost every time it's reported an error it has ntoskrnl.exe, nwifi.sys, and tcpip.sys. I have no idea what any of those are. I'm not very experienced with computers, I mainly use mine to play games. I actually found this forum when I was searching to find what tcpip.sys was all about. And I was hoping someone could help me fix my BSOD problem.  The weird part is, I have no clue what causes the errors. Sometimes I'll be playing a game, sometimes I'll have just exited a game, sometimes I'll just be browsing the web. [bleep] sometimes it BSODs when I'm not doing anything at all, I'd be lying on my bed and see it crash.

The easiest fix would be to try using Windows System Restore to roll Windows back to a point in time when your computer was functioning correctly. It allows you to undo system changes without affecting your personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos.

Will it affect any recent games I've installed?

Hi, any programs or applications installed after the restore point you choose, will have to be reinstalled. All other files even the most recent will not be affected.

If those games were a full install, then yes they will be affected and will have to be installed again. If you stored downloaded installation files in the downloads folder, the actual downloaded files will still be there.
