Hy guys! I'm writing to you because i built my first pc a few weeks ago(i always used notebooks so far)and whatever games i try to play it always crashes after 20-40 minutes, sometimes causing direct3d fatal error, and sometimes it finishes windows(both 7 and 8.1 64bit).

First my specs:

-Asrock B85M Pro4 motherboard

-Intel I5-4440 with intel hd4600 on board

-Nvidia GTX750 1gb GPU

-4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Samsung RAM

-Chieftech 500W power supply

-Cooler Master Elite Knight 350 house

So my problem is as i mentioned that every game i try to play crashes. So fist i thought that the gpu driver can be faulty so i downloaded the the latest version from nvidia for it.This didn't solved my problem so i made a new partition, and installed win7 to see if the problem is with win 8.1, but sadly it didn't solved my problem. So i headed back to my gpu and the motherboard.I got it out and placed in an other PCIe slot to close the motherboard out.Since it still crashed int the other slot i tried. i thought that still the gpu is faulty so i enabled the dedicated video card(Intel hd 4600) just to be shure that the gpu is the problem.Through this time i brought my gpu back where i bought it to be tested and replaced if it's really faulty, but the only "problem" in hungary is that they love to replace the pc things in warrantee times, even if the gpu is not bad as it claimed, because the make money out of it.It's not bad cus i'll get my brand new gtx750 tomorrow instead of my old one, but i still don't know that whatever it was causing the problem. So as i mentioned i started to use my intel hd 4600 and i only tried it whit star trek online because i had just a little of time for my pc in the last two days, and i noticed that it crashed with my hd4600 the game in 4 hrs twice first with this error:(sorry but it's hungarian, i hope you'll still understand)

and i can't find the second one. So afer all of this i start to think that maybe the problem is with my RAM but, now i really don't know what could be the problem, and i'm afraid of that althrough i'll recive my new GPU tomorrow it wouldn't solve the problem.

:welcome:     dbarna,

First two check that we will do are the output of the PSU and the temperatures inside your case but can I also ask if when you installed Windows 7 and 8.1 did you also install the drivers for the MB.

Download Speedfan and install it.  Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows.  The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.

If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

speedfan.png

(this is a screenshot from a vista machine)

Download then run HWMonitor and post a screenshot so that we have a comparison to the Speedfan results, details from here

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... then after typing in any response you have... click on browse...desktop...find the screenshot..select it and click on the upload button...then on the lower left...after it says upload successful...click on add reply like you normally would.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

But hwm shows this:115561947002_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.jpg

Well i originaly installed win 8.1 and after it win 7.

But did you also install the drivers for the MB.

Can you also clarify if you have Windows 7 and 8.1 dual boot.

The temps look ok in HWMonitor but the voltage readings are inconclusive as the +12V and the +5V readings are missing  :(

Please restart your computer and check the temperatures/voltages in the BIOS, no screenshot is required just make a note of the temperatures and the +3.3V, +5V and the +12V and post them with your next reply.

NB: BIOS voltage readings.

The readings are not conclusive in the BIOS as the computer is under the least amount of load, if they are higher or lower than what they should be though it does suggest a PSU problem.

Yes i have dual boot, in the bios it says:
+12.00V :+12.460V
+5.00V :+5.088V
+3.30V :+3.360V

And the driver for the MB is a kind of a new thingy for me :o let me check on the cd included with it.

Well i used easy driver install in bios and theoreticaly now every driver is installed

When you dual boot two versions of Windows the older of the two OSs must be installed first or you will have problems, see here and in particular note the highlighted warning.

Those voltages are fine but do keep in mind that the computer is not under load and they will change when it is, you can keep a check on that once Windows is stable.

Not familiar with "easy driver install in bios" only installing the drivers off a driver disk once Windows has been installed, the chipset driver is normally the first driver that you should install, does this sound familiar as in is that what you did.

Well i used to have problem on 8.1 before i installed win 7 so i don't think that would be the problem, and neither the chipset driver, because i remember installing it after building my pc.However i will try a different driver for my chipset just in case if that is the problem
