Yes, it's just not nearly as bad. It only happens every once in a while now.

You figured out the exact cause of it?? In the logs somewhere? Even if you've never seen it before it's in a step in the right direction and you've gotten farther than anyone else has haha

If this is becoming too much of a trouble, just let me know. This has been going on for a while and I don't want to inconvenience you in any way!

Still no sign of this being a normal problem... (i.e. very few people are reporting it ) Is it still occurring ?

Of course! Thank you for doing research. When this first started I also had trouble locating anything online to help me. It still happens every once in a while. Maybe one window once a day or every other day. Two days ago was the worst it's been in a while with three windows opened. But that's it. They don't open at consistent times. Could it be some sort of a scheduled task? I haven't put back on google chrome since it usually makes it worse.

Unless it is an HP task I can see no other that would be suspect

Do you think I should just let it be? If I reimage it and it's not malware, I'm sure it could easily happen again

If it is causing no problems then you could just put it down to the vagaries of computers. But, you are clean so your choice

I guess it's not that big of a deal. The only thing is not having chrome. But it's not like it's hard to work around! If this is the worst it will do I can make it work until I look into getting another computer
