I started my computer today and everything was huge. I usually keep the resolution at 1440x900. I went to change the resolution and the only option is 640x480. I thought maybe to install the newest graphics driver but the problem is when it gets to the "install manager" the box is so huge that the buttons at the bottom are not visible. Device manager says that the video card is working. I'm running win 7 pro and have an amd hd7770 video card. I don't know what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

buruceb3,

You are meaning the installation program for graphics driver windows was not accessible, any way to drag it with the mouse to be able to get at it ?

Wondering how the graphics software got lost, possibly corrupted or something deleted or removed it.

Go into Device Manager, expand Display Adapters.

Right click on your video card and select Uninstall.

Reboot

Win 7 will re-detect the video card and reload the drivers.

See if that helps.

Sometimes you can right click on the window and select Move then use the cursor keys to move the window around.

Someone mentioned the monitor so I brought my 19" monitor from my spare computer and put it on my main computer and it worked at 1440x900. Then I took my 22" from my main computer that wasn't able to go above 640x480 and put it downstairs on my spare computer and it worked at 1440x900, so I took it back upstairs and put it back on my main computer and it worked fine at 1440x900!
The only thing I can figure is the cable connection. What I don't get is that nothing was moved to unseat the cable. Oh well, everythings working fine now. Thanks for the replies though.

Usually that would cause a distorted or no picture ( lines, etc..) if loose. That is strange. Maybe bad cable.
