OS ME is mirroring OS 98

Hello,

This is an issue that noone can seem to help me with. When I have check system and equipment checks on Aol and on 2 other sites...my OS shows as 98.
I do not have OS 98, I have OS ME.

Does anyone know why? I also checked on a site I go to for a grief chat...same thing. Webmaster confirmed.

Why would my OS be showing I have something different then what I actually have?
