Hi Essexboy,

I have re-booted a few times between yesterday and today and absolutely no signs of cmd.exe popping up.

Do you think it is just something to do with a legit program that was running at start up and not malware related?

I am really pleased with how my laptop is running just now.

If anything I would put it down to the Iobit defrag as it was set as a task to run at boot

OK as we have not downloaded any fresh programmes, if you are happy you are good to go :)

Hi Essexboy,

once again thanks for all your help.

Greatly appreciated.

before I go....I sometimes use UTorrent and tested it just there but I get the message : this program is blocked by group policy

Can you tell me how to unlock it?

I have never used torrent but could you temporarily disable Cryptoprevent and see if the torrent runs if it does keep the torrent open and then apply the default settings on cryptoprevent
