My sister and i went to walmart to look at new phones. The employee assisting us was an elderly man and told us that he was selling his phone and my sister bought it a few days later. 2 weeks later and told her that he found one of his old android (lg optimus showtime) and i could have it for free. I thought it was very kind of him to give me the phone for nothing.well anyways i get the phone and i download cm security app and do a scan. Three threats were found 1. Fakeid exploit 2.towelroot exploit 3.sms phishing vulnurability . I looked up those threats and they are all privacy invading! I told my sister and she download the security app,did the scan and the same 3 threats show for hers (its a different lg then mine)..she took screenshots of the threats and defended the phone against them. She then sent the screenshots to the oh so nice elderly man, told him how we both found it on our phones and asked whats up with it? He replys saying he thinks they may be scams let him look into it..he sends another message saying he found out they are scams but dont hit defend yet because he was going to take care of it on his end..then sent another message saying its all fixed..before i knew about the threats i attempted to put my old samsung sd card into the lg optimus showtime but it wasnt working so i put my sd back in my samsung ( i still use the phone) . The samsung started acting weird. I did the security scan on it and all the same threats! I need to know as much information about this. Is this man spying on us or is it the cm security app just says the same the same threats? Help! Please and thank you.
