Joe, no worries, I'm sick myself. A lot of nasties going around!

the computers lagging a lot, (especially web browsers) and getting messages of low memory. But better than it was.  I have more memory coming, but this thing only will take 4mb(?) of ram.

it's a cheap walmart pos and hardly worth the time I'm putting into it. But it's what my brother uses...

It had to have run better originally, any idea to see where memory consumption is going?

thx, Dave

What is the exact make an model of the computer ? It came with windows 7 pre installed ?

What is the exact memory error message, as displayed on screen ?

Open the Task manger:
To do that:
1.Right click on an empty space on the task bar where the clock is.
2.Choose Start Task Manger
3.Above click processes.
4.Show processes for all users.

What do the first 4 of 5 show.

Hello,

C:\Users\TimAKeyman\Downloads\HijackThis.exe

Hijackthis is in the downloads folder. Can you move it to the desktop please.

To do that:
Just navigate to the downloads folder, in the downloads folder find Hijackthis, right click on it and choose Cut, now go back to your desktop and on an empty space right click and choose paste. Hijackthis should now be running from the desktop.

Then
  • Close all browser windows.
  • Open hijackthis. Right click it and run as administrator.
  • Do a System scan only, wait for the scan to load.
Place a "check" mark in the following entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HostManager] C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\AOL\1313687291\ee\AOLSoftware.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe ARM] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [GoogleChromeAutoLaunch_21919466AED1F1ACD8BA44778CD1A9A9] "C:\Users\TimAKeyman\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --no-startup-window
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Google Update] "C:\Users\TimAKeyman\AppData\Local\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe" /c
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CCleaner Monitoring] "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe" /MONITOR
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\RunOnce: [mctadmin] C:\Windows\System32\mctadmin.exe (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')
O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\RunOnce: [mctadmin] C:\Windows\System32\mctadmin.exe (User 'NETWORK SERVICE')
  • Click fix checked.
  • Close Hijackthis.
  • Reboot.
Post a new Hijackthis log.

Thanks
Joe :)
