As a former avid MS user, normally I wouldn't complain about this, however I can't truly be the only one annoyed by the fact that anytime I setup a Windows 8 or Windows 10 (Dev) machine I am forced to sign into a microsoft account.

 

Yes I know it's a dev verison and they probably want to track who is using it, however I had the same thought when Windows 8 came out yet the final version still had the sign in.

 

I just want to see what other computer techies have to say and if I'm actually the only person who this seems to bother.

No you aren't the only one, this bothers me too, but there is an easy workaround (on 8.1)

SImply select set up new Microsoft Account(Instead of I have an account) and then choose use local account.

You can use a local account instead, I do it all the time.

When installing, Click on Create New account when you get to the screen where you setup the login name.

Then click on Sign in without a Microsoft account.

You can also not connect to the internet, then a local account is the default.
