I have windows XP Pro with service pack 3. I plugged in my ear phones to the front jack and I don't get any sound. I tried it on another computer and they work. My desktop speakers do work they are plugged in the back. All my setting except microphone is turned on. Any ideas of where to look?

Hello Kelly d W,

Couple of questions if I may;

Have the headphones ever worked in the front, if yes have they just suddenly stopped working.

Is this a custom built computer or a branded one, if branded post the brand and model name or number, if custom built post the MB brand and model name or number so that we can do some research on the specs etc that we need.

see front jack of desktop will be sometimes don't connect with the internal motherboard connections so, try to connect internally with correct position. then you can get the connect with the music service of the desktop.
